A lot of people don't really know what all of this is about. Parkour is described as "The art of movement". It is an art, because it involves choice and creativity. Also, its a discipline. It is physically intense and requires the use of every muscle in the body. Some say its a sport. Although it is not done competivly, it involves technique and strength. So whats the difference? The text book answer is that:
1. Parkour is a way to get from A to B as quickly and efficiently as possible
2. Freerunning uses more flips and tricks and does not focus on an objective
The team likes to look at this a different way. We like to see two as one. The have the exact same fundamentals. Really, no one says "I have to be there in 10 mins!" and starts leaping from building to building. We like to think of the art as a whole, and reference it either way.
